Rabbi Alex Israel
Rav Alex Israel is a leading faculty member at Yeshivat Eretz Hatzvi, Orot College for Women, and Emunah VeOmanut, Jerusalem.
Rav Alex's specializes in Tanach, Midrash and Israel studies . He studied, and received S'micha at Yeshivat Har Etzion , a place that nurtured for him both religious ideology and learning methodology for life.
When Rav Alex is not in the classroom, he leads his students as an informative and inspirational Tour Guide . Whether reading the words of Tanach or discovering Jerusalem, Zionism at Har Herzl and learning about the Mishna at Tzippori. Rav Alex also conducts weddings for the secular public in Israel. This is in the framework of an organization of Rabbis - Tzohar - whose aim is to bridge the animosity between the religious and secular communities in Israel.
He holds degrees in Computer Studies and Education from London University, and is currently studying towards his MA in Talmud at Bar Ilan University.
Originally from London, Rav Israel resides in Alon Shevut , Gush Etzion, where he has lived for the past 15 years. He is married to Aliza, and they have four wonderful children: Avinoam (11), Maayan (9) and Hillel (5) and Yehuda (2).
Rav Alex Israel has lectured in communities and campuses in Israel, the U.S. and the U.K. (S cholar-in-residence at Cong. Etz Chayim, Queens (Rabbi Rosenberg); Keter Torah, Teaneck (Roemer); Riverdale Jewish Center (RJC); Anshei Shalom Bnei Israel, Chicago (R. Lopatin), and at Yeshivat Ohr Chayim, Toronto. In the UK he has lectured at LSJS, and many synagogues. Campuses:Brandeis, Columbia, Stern, NYU, Penn)
During his summers he teaches at Matan and Pardes.
