Rabbi Benjamin Hecht

Rabbi Benjamin Hecht is the Founding Director of NISHMA, a Torah Think Tank recognized throughout North America and Israel for its study, insights and perspectives in the fields of Torah law and ethics. In addition to his administrative duties, he serves as the editor of  the NISHMA publications and website (nishma.org) and is active in Nishma's ongoing research and education projects.

Rabbi Hecht lectures throughout North America and has been a guest on Passages and other radio and television programs. He writes prolifically on Jewish thought and its interaction with the human condition and is in the process of completing a new book on Jewish identity. 

In addition to his rabbinical ordination, he holds degrees in law, psychology and management.
