Hayyim Angel is the Rabbi of the historic Congregation Shearith Israel of New York (the Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue, founded in 1654). He also teaches advanced undergraduate Bible courses at Yeshiva University. He has published over 60 scholarly articles, primarily in Bible. 40 of them are collected in two books, Through an Opaque Lens (Sephardic Publication Foundation, 2006), and Revealed Texts, Hidden Meanings (KTAV-Sephardic Publication Foundation, 2009) .
