Rabbi Jack Bieler
Rabbi Jack Bieler is a graduate of Yeshiva College, a recipient of a Masters Degree in Jewish education from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and Education, and was ordained by the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary in 1974. He served as a member of the Judaic studies faculty of Yeshivat Ramaz between 1974-88, and permanent Scholar-in-Residence at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun in New York City between 1977-88. Rabbi Bieler was a Jerusalem Fellow during 1985-6, and relocated with his family to Silver Spring, Maryland in 1988. Since that time, he has been an administrator and Judaic studies faculty member of the Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy in Rockville, Md, and in 1994 assumed the position of Rabbi of the Kemp Mill Synagogue, in Silver Spring. Currently he is also a mentor for the Principals' Seminar of the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education at Bar Ilan University. He is the author of numerous articles on Modern Orthodoxy and the philosophy of Modern Orthodox education. He is married to Dr. Joan Glick Bieler, and they are the parents of four children and grandparents of four grandchildren. Numerous essays, articles and papers that he has authored can be accessed at
