Melanie Phillips is a British journalist and author. Her articles appear mainly in the Daily Mail newspaper and cover political and social issues from a conservative perspective; she has also written for The Guardian , and is a regular panelist on the BBC Radio 4 programme The Moral Maze and BBC One 's Question Time . In 2003, The Guardian wrote that she is arguably "the most high-profile and prolific British pundit on moral and political matters." Awarded the Orwell Prize for journalism in 1996, she is the author of four books, including Londonistan , which was published in the US and UK in 2006 and immediately became a best-seller.
Her latest book, The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle over God, Truth and Power was published in April 2010.
