Rabbi Shalom Berger
Prior to his Aliya in 1991, Rabbi Shalom Berger taught and acted as director of Israel Guidance in HAFTR high school. His doctoral dissertation focused on the impact of one-year Israel programs on American day school graduates. He developed the Orthodox Caucus' Guide to Israel One Year Programs, now hosted by Yeshiva University's Center for the Jewish Future at http://www.yu.edu/cjf/gis/
In Israel he taught in BMT and Midreshet Lindenbaum, and now directs educational programs at the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education in the Diaspora ( http://www.lookstein.org ).
In his spare time Shalom raises his children in Alon Shvut, leads heritage groups in Eastern Europe and acts as Rav Machane at Camp Moshava in the Poconos.
