Ordained as a Rabbi from Yeshiva University in New York, Rabbi Jay Kelman
previously served as a Congregational Rabbi in Toronto for nine years.
In recognition of his communal efforts, Rabbi Kelman was Recipient of the
Award for Rabbinic Leadership from the United Jewish Communities
Federations of North America.
Rabbi Kelman is also a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Canada and earned
his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) degree in the United States, with
previous work experience in the Tax Department of a large international
accounting firm. His monthly column Money Matters is published in the
Canadian Jewish News.
Currently, in addition to his founder and leadership roles in Torah in Motion,
Rabbi Kelman teaches Ethics, Talmud and Rabbinics at the Community Hebrew
Academy of Toronto. He and his wife Ilana are the proud parents of six children.
