 Dr. Elliott Malamet is currently an Associate Professor of Jewish Education at York University in Toronto . Dr. Malamet received his Ph.D in English Literature from the University of Toronto where he taught from 1987-1993. He also lectured in the Jewish Studies Department at Queen's University in Kingston , and taught at the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto for twelve years, where he was the head of the Jewish Thought Department.
Dr. Malamet's work in the field of spiritual education has been featured in the leading Canadian newspapers and he has appeared many times on Canadian radio and television. Dr. Malamet has run seminars on teaching Judaism to young people in the United States , Canada , England and Israel .
Along with Rabbi Jay and Ilana Kelman, Dr. Malamet is the founder of Torah in Motion, a Toronto based organization that presents a wide variety of conferences and symposia on cutting edge Jewish issues. Dr. Malamet is currently at work on a book which examines the ethics of teenagers.
